Mochi Lock

A glowing pin races around a candy dial - tap the split second it lines up with a notch to pop the pins one by one and spring the smiling mochi padlock open.

About Mochi Lock

Mochi Lock is a one-tap timing game in the 'pop the lock' family. A bright glowing pin sweeps around a circular dial at a steady pace, and a candy notch waits somewhere on the ring. The whole game is a single beat of timing: tap at the exact moment the pin lines up with the notch and it pops in with a satisfying click. Miss the window - tap when the pin is over nothing - and the lock jams.

Every pop flips the script. The instant a notch clicks home the dial reverses direction and speeds up a touch, then a fresh notch drops further around the ring, so you are always re-reading the sweep. Pop enough pins in a row and the mochi padlock in the middle grins and springs its shackle open - that clears the level.

The 20 hand-tuned levels are grouped into five candy worlds - Berry, Citrus, Mint, Ocean, and Galaxy - and each world layers in a new twist. Berry teaches the click with a slow, generous window. Citrus tightens the window and quickens the sweep. Mint puts two live notches on the dial at once, so you choose which to grab. Ocean adds red jam notches - traps you must let the pin glide past, never tapping on them. Galaxy combines everything into a fast, tight finale.

Clear all 20 levels and Endless mode opens up, dealing fresh locks forever with every mechanic switched on from the very first one - double notches, jam traps, fast sweeps - and a difficulty that keeps ramping past the curated finale, so the locks never run out. There is no points score and no high-score chase: cracking a lock always earns the full three stars.

How to play Mochi Lock

  1. Watch the glowing pin sweep around the candy dial at a steady speed.
  2. Tap anywhere on the screen (or press Space) the instant the pin lines up with a bright notch on the ring.
  3. A clean tap pops the pin in: the dial reverses, speeds up a little, and a new notch appears further around.
  4. Keep popping pins until the meter at the top fills - the mochi padlock springs open and the level is cleared.
  5. From Ocean on, leave the red jam notches alone: tapping when the pin is over a red trap jams the lock and ends the level.
  6. After level 20, pick Endless to keep cracking freshly dealt locks for as long as you like.

Frequently asked questions

How do I win a level in Mochi Lock?

Pop the required number of pins by tapping the instant the sweeping pin lines up with a bright notch. The meter at the top of the screen fills with each pop; when it's full the mochi padlock springs open and the level is cleared.

What happens if I tap at the wrong time?

If you tap when the pin is over nothing, or over a red jam notch, the lock jams and the level ends - you just retry it from the start. There's no other way to lose: taking your time between pops is totally fine.

What are the red notches?

Those are jam traps, introduced in the Ocean world. The pin passing over a red notch is harmless - the danger is only if you TAP while it's there. Let the pin glide through them and wait for a real (bright) notch.

Why does the dial keep changing direction and speeding up?

That's the core of the game. Every successful pop reverses the sweep and bumps the speed up a little, so you're constantly re-reading the dial. The last pin in a level is always the fastest.

How many levels are there, and what is Endless mode?

There are 20 hand-tuned levels split across five candy worlds. Clear all 20 and Endless mode unlocks, dealing fresh locks forever with every mechanic active from the first one and a difficulty that keeps climbing past the final curated level.

Does Mochi Lock save my progress?

It remembers which levels you've unlocked and reopens at your furthest one, kept privately in your own browser on this device. A different device or browser starts a new save. Individual locks aren't saved mid-run - each level starts fresh.
