A cozy Lights-Out parity puzzle where every tap flips a plus-shape of sleepy mochi lanterns - wake the whole grid at once and the overlaps are the whole game.
Mochi Lights is the classic Lights-Out toggle puzzle wearing a grid of round mochi lanterns. Each lantern is in one of two states: lit, where it glows in the world's colour and shows a smiling face with blushing cheeks, or sleepy, where it sits dim with its eyes gently closed. Tap any lantern and it flips between those two states along with the four lanterns directly above, below, left, and right of it - a plus shape, five cells at once. You win a level the instant every open lantern on the board is lit at the same time. There is no score, no clock, and no move limit; the only thing standing between you and the finish is the order you tap in.
What makes it a real puzzle rather than busywork is that the plus-shaped taps overlap. Lighting a stubborn corner almost always dims a lantern you had already fixed, so you cannot just brute-force cell by cell - you are working out a small parity problem where the right sequence of taps cancels out all the unwanted flips and leaves the whole grid glowing. A neat consequence of the maths: tapping the same lantern twice returns the board to exactly where it started, which means there is no penalty for experimenting and no undo button needed.
The journey is 20 hand-built levels split into five colour-themed worlds of four levels each - Berry pink, Citrus orange, Mint green, Ocean blue, and Galaxy violet - each with its own glow colour and starry backdrop. Boards start as a tiny 3x3 in Berry, where the first three levels share that size as a clean tutorial, and grow steadily to a dense 6x6 by Galaxy. Difficulty is dialled by two things: the grid size and the number of random scramble taps used to mix the board up, which climbs from just 2 in the very first puzzle to 14 in the final curated level.
Two extra mechanics layer in as you climb. From Mint onward, sleepy wall cushions appear - fixed darker pillows that never light and never react to taps, carving the grid into irregular shapes that change the parity entirely. From Ocean onward, big ringed lanterns join in: tapping one flips a full 3x3 block of nine cells, reaching the diagonals a normal plus tap can never touch. Clear all twenty and you unlock an endless run of freshly generated puzzles that has every mechanic switched on from its very first board and keeps ramping - grids grow from 6x6 up to 8x8 and the scramble count keeps rising - so it picks up right at the curated finale's difficulty instead of resetting to easy.
Every board is guaranteed solvable by the way it is built: the game starts from a fully lit, already-solved grid and applies the scramble taps in reverse, so the puzzle is literally those taps run backwards. Undo the scramble and you have won. Completing any level awards three stars and a confetti burst of sparks shooting out of every lit lantern, and your unlocked levels and stars are saved automatically so you can pick up where you left off.

The mochi faces keep it gentle for younger hands poking around, smiling with blushed cheeks when awake and dozing when dim. Clear all twenty and endless boards open right at that hardest pitch, every mechanic live from the first, grids creeping toward eight-by-eight.
A normal tap flips five lanterns at once: the one you touched plus its up, down, left, and right neighbours, switching each between lit and sleepy. Lanterns on an edge or corner simply flip fewer neighbours because some of the plus falls off the board.

It means tap order matters more than tap count, and tapping any lantern an even number of times changes nothing while an odd number changes its plus-shape.
